WHAT: In an effort to honor area Vietnam War-era veterans, Reps. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) and Fred Keller (R-Snyder/Union), along with the office of U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, are hosting a ceremony to commemorate National Vietnam Veterans Day this Wednesday. Veterans from the Greater Susquehanna Valley area are invited to attend and be honored at this event. Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of station location, will be eligible to receive a lapel pin at this ceremony. Family members are invited to attend the ceremony with veterans.

WHAT: State Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) is attending the unveiling of a rare fossil display and Science Center dedication at Chief Shikellamy Elementary School. Donated by area Prehistoric Journeys owners Barry and April James, the Science Center features a 5-foot sculpted Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, a real ischium bone of a sauropod dinosaur, 30 museum-quality fossil replicas, paintings, illustrations and books, and more.
